TCU programming is available for most Mercedes-Benz vehicles fitted with the touch-shift 5-speed gear box, generally 2001 and newer (4Matic included).

The only W5A transmissions they cannot program are in early W210s, W208s, W202 C43's, and the 2009+ V12 Bi-Turbo cars. These use TCU units called "EGS51", which is a one-time program only.

All other 5-speed touch-shift cars us "EGS52" which is 100% programmable. Please provide the year and model of your Mercedes with any inquiries so we can verify compatibility.

The control unit version is printed on the top right corner of the sticker that's on the EGS controller. Location of the controller varies by chassis.

Differential ratio change, power handling capacity and shift times can all be modified. These changes in programming are invisisble to dealer scanning tools. Kleemann USA is not able to program TCU units for modification/replacement of the torque converter.
