Made of T309 (1.4828) Grade Stainless Steel and Hand-polished to a mirror finish.
These High Performance Sports Catalytic Converters feature 100 cell per square inch substrate fashioned from the highest quality materials currently available designed to improve air flow for your vehicle and increase performance.
The cell count of a catalytic substrate refers to the number of holes per square inch and is a direct indication of the flow capabilities of that substrate. The lower the count of holes the bigger the hole need to be to fill one square inch, a bigger hole subsequently flows more exhaust gasses.
All of this High flow will not help if the substrate is ‘squeezed’ into to small a diameter can or pipe. For this reason, CAPRISTO Sports Cats come packaged in 5.2 inch packages to maximize exhaust gas flow and operation of the valved exhaust system.
The CAPRISTO valved exhaust system helps low rpm torque by providing back pressure in the exhaust, and raises temperature for good catalytic converter operation. While in the open valve condition for high rpm, it takes full advantage of the free flow characteristics of the CAPRISTO Sport Cats optimizing the high energy exhaust at the ideal temperature and back pressure to maximize performance.
These catalytic converters can be easily fitted to a CAPRISTO exhaust systems or any system that fits directly to the OEM exhaust.
CAPRISTO began in 1990 as a manufacturer of exhaust systems for Ferraris and have since evolved into the premier manufacturer of today’s high performance exhaust systems for both exotic street cars and racing models.
CAPRISTO is committed to providing world-class exhaust and carbon fiber products which surpass the expectations of its customers. Our factory in Germany is complete with a state-of-the art testing and development center where CAPRISTO is continually improving our manufacturing efficiency and standards to levels beyond OEM quality.
CAPRISTO has pioneered a variety of improvements in the design of performance exhaust systems. Antonio Capristo, founder and CEO of CAPRISTO Exhausts, currently holds several International patents for innovative exhaust technologies. Every CAPRISTO exhaust is made from T309 stainless steel (close to Inconel – used in F1 Racing) and designed for extreme temperature applications (>600*C), employing mandrel-bent tubing, and hand-welded construction with the utmost care and professionalism.
The performance and sound advantages of CAPRISTO exhausts are globally exalted by sports car and exotic owners. CAPRISTO is at the forefront of performance automotive development, complete with our full line of patented and track proven products that enhance the sound and visual impact of sports cars while adding dyno-verified power and torque.
Our US distribution (based in Florida) stocks over 80% of the 500+ item catalogue, and offers free shipping on all in-stock products. Our wide dealer network in North America offers top flight service and installation matching the quality of the CAPRISTO product. Special order items are typically a max 10-14 day turnaround with quick shipping from our factory in Germany.
Engineering
Every Capristo component starts with the creation of a complete 3D rendering of the vehicle utilizing our state-of-the-art 3D laser scanners. Creating this multi-dimensional image of the car is the most important baseline to ensure perfect OEM level fitment of the exhaust or carbon fiber pieces. The rendering generated serves as the starting basis for the product prototype development within our CAD computer software.
Once the scan is complete the data is prepared, digitally cleaned and exported for further processing using our proprietary CAD-Software. Every file is then cross checked against physical measurements to ensure accuracy.
The digital process starts the beginning of the prototype manufacturing. Utilizing engine specifications, sonic resonance values, and dimensional restrictions, Capristo designs multiple prototype concepts for physical evaluation. The unique “Capristo sound” the brand is known for is achieved through the constant application of this bespoke formula applied to the specific data matrices of the specific car’s attributes.
Once the digital design processes are finalized multiple system prototypes are produced. Each of these designs are then test-fitted and checked for performance and sound superiority. Only once the perfect balance of these two goals is found is the result achieved and ready for the next step.
Upon completion of prototyping and testing, the system is now ready for serial production and will be manufactured based on the specific precise guidelines. Billet Steel Jigs are created in-house to ensure 100% accuracy and consistency of each system that is produced. Similar to engine production at AMG or Ferrari, one welder is assigned to each production model who will then carry out the production from start to finish. After CNC-bending and CNC-milling of the base T309 (1.4828) stainless steel the exhaust is ready for welding. All Capristo Automotive products integrate this state-of-the-art technology to guarantee the highest standard of quality.
After the product is completed, the system is hand-polished to a mirror finish and ready for installation on your vehicle. Only with Capristo are you ensured of 100% German, beyond OEM-level design and construction of your performance modifications. Accept no Substitute. Capristo.
