Only for 2.0 TSI EA888 gen4 Garrett Turbo
Intense Research & Development
We’ve been developing and testing PCM for over a year and many tens of thousands of miles now. By using our in-house calibration, PCM is designed to work within the safe limits of the factory ECU, unlocking more horsepower and torque without having to modify the factory calibration.
Beautiful Drivability
Our tuning philosophy of smooth drivability, outstanding reliability and longevity follows suit on the PCM. We have spent hours of research, development and testing on various applications to make sure that both power and torque are increased without any adverse effect.
Power Games
Dedicated only to the latest 2.0 TSI MQB EVO models, the PCM has versions suitable for either the higher output Continental turbo equipped engines, plus the Garrett powered lower output turbo engines. Power is increased, with superb drivability, safety and the ability to revert to the factory ECU calibration at any time.
Power and Torque increases
Of course, it's all about performance. PCM will boost your 2.0 TSI by up to 40PS and 60Nm when using our supporting RacingLine hardware versus the quoted factory power outputs, a difference that you'll feel instantly.
Our careful calibration development also means that you don't have to choose between better performance or better fuel economy. PCM's efficiency improvements lets you have both.
How does PCM work?
PCM works by using our in-house developed calibration running on our standalone PCB, which communicates in parallel with the factory ECU.
This communication route allows the PCM to safely optimise a variety of electronic sensor signals in real time, interfacing between the engine controls and its sensors. With multiple channels such as charge air pressure, ignition and fuelling controlled by the PCM computer, the result is increased power and torque across the whole powerband of the engine.
We have carried tens of thousands of development miles of rigorous testing on our in-house dyno, on road and on track with numerous calibrations, across multiple cars and different hardware installations, allowing us to find the sweet spot for engine performance, drivability and safety.
Track-proven
Every product that carries the RacingLine logo has been thoroughly track-tested. And PCM is no exception.
Why? Because only in hard track-use can we push the car's engine to the limits, again and again. It's reassuring to know that we've done the hard work so you can get on with enjoying your car!
Hardware Compatible
Right from the outset, PCM has been developed in conjunction with RacingLine's latest Performance Parts for the MQB 'evo' cars.
Whilst PCM has been developed to work perfectly on an unmodified stock car, it has also been calibrated to self-adapt to take full advantage of any RacingLine upgrades.
So adding the RacingLine R600 EVO intake, plus our new Turbo Inlet Systems will really let the PCM extract the most from your engine.
What fuel grade can I use?
PCM has been designed to work with different fuel grades around the world, just like factory calibration does. Meaning it's perfectly safe, whatever grade fuel you put in your tank.
However, using a lower fuel grade will result in less power, meaning that a premium octane fuel is always advised.
How does it compare to an OEM+ calibration?
We're completely honest about this: the PCM calibration is not as sophisticated as our OEM+ calibrations are.
To keep the car smooth, safe and reliable, PCM's power levels have to be kept lower than we anticipate for our OEM+ Stage 1 calibrations.
But of course, you'll love the power boost you get from PCM, combined with the drivability and efficiency gains. And with our free upgrade program, you can have a free OEM+ calibration as soon as it's available if that's the way you want to go!
PCM INSTALL
Can I install at home?
PCM has a simple installation, providing you have a basic level of mechanical knowledge. The PCM unit sits above the battery, using the provided carbon fibre battery mount and hardware, while the wiring loom is plugged into existing sensors found at the top of the engine.
Or for full peace of mind, all of our approved PCM dealers around the world can also install this for you, subject to labour charges.
What's in the kit?
Simple. Everything you need for install, in a kit specifically built for the MQB 'EVO' cars with the 2.0 TSI engine.
?
As well as the PCM box with its beautiful billet case, a carbon fibre bracket mounts it perfectly on top of the battery. The wiring loom is to the perfect length for your car. Finally a deactivation plug is included, should you ever choose to temporarily disconnect your PCM.
Is PCM removable?
PCM is completely removable, with no changes to be made to the hardware or software of the original car.
We also include a PCM blanking unit, which plugs into the existing wiring loom and removes the PCM calibration, without having to remove any of the installed hardware.
Does PCM affect warranty?
It's very clear - any tuning modification on your vehicle can invalidate your manufacturer's engine & powertrain warranty. So if your dealer sees the PCM fitted, then they'd be entitled to reject a warranty claim on the engine or drivetrain.
?
Of course, PCM is fully removable. With it removed, the car is returned to true stock, but whilst PCM leaves minimal trace to the ECU, it's important to understand that there is no guarantee that this product is warranty safe and is installed at the customers’ own risk.
