Charlotte - Upgrades Advisor (Click Here to Apply)
We specialize in upgrading, servicing, detailing, storing and track supporting German (Audi, BMW, Mercedes, Porsche and VW) vehicles and offer a rare opportunity to work in an industry where passion and devotion for automobiles can be part of your everyday career. We have been in business since 1975 and have three locations. We are seeking a highly motivated candidate that can blend a desire to succeed with a willingness to take care of our customers to join our Lake Norman team.
This position requires an automotive background, knowledge of the performance & replacement parts marketplace and at least three years experience in a Performance or Repair shop. Our advisors handle walk-in customers but the many of the conversations are had via email and over the phone. Our ideal candidate for the position must have excellent verbal and written communication skills with a proven ability work in a fast paced team environment.
Main Objective
Our upgrades advisor role focuses on the performance side of vehicles. Our job is to listen to what the client wants to achieve with their vehicle and pair their desires with the most suitable upgrades working within budget and time parameters. These upgrades may include, but are not limited to;
+ ECU Reprogramming & Bolt-On Engine Upgrades
+ Tuned Suspension Upgrades
+ Sport Exhaust Upgrades
+ TrackDay Packages
Our clients call in requesting information on upgrading their vehicles, and we provide accurate estimates with the cost of the parts and installation and handle the logistics from the start to completion of the project. Our advisors facilitate the project and work together with the our team of technicians, the manufacturer reps and store manager to deliver a turn key package.
Workflow
Our advisors are in charge of ordering the parts needed to complete the job. The advisor creates the purchase order and corresponds with the vendor or places the order through an e-commerce style online account. We do have a parts specialist that then handles the checking in and staging of the parts for the advisor but the advisor must be very thorough and good at multi-tasking to make sure that parts arrive in a timely manner.
Our main forms of communication are via email and phone as well as text messaging through the shop management program. Each advisor has a direct extension which can be forwarded to the advisors cell phone. This is done with an app that allows the call to be placed on hold and transferred as through a normal business phone. Ultimately, this provides the advisor ultimate connectivity to our clients while allowing them to switch of during personal time.
Compensation & Hours
The pay for this position is commission-based with no cap and can vary greatly depending on skill and effort. We have set the range based on the success of current and previous advisors. We offer an hourly wage that is structured as a recoverable draw. The minimum pay is $53,500 based on our working hours of 8:30am to 6:30pm. The commission structure is based on overall gross sales, parts profit and labor sales. However, we strongly monitor the sales to ensure that our advisor focus on the clients needs and not the commission margin of the sale.
We are open Monday - Friday from 9am to 6pm. We ask that the advisers are here each weekday by 8:30am to be ready to go by the time the phones turn on at 9am. Most successful advisors arrive 30-60 minutes early and leave 30-60 minutes after we close to wrap up the day and prepare for the next. Advisors working those hours are able to exceed a 6-figure income.
We strongly encourage advisor to participate in weekend events such as car shows and track days as well as weeknight gatherings and automotive networking events. The most successful advisors are active in the community and get involved in relationship building. An advisor has an opportunity to attend these events with our company vehicles and sometimes the vehicles of the company's clients.
