LOWERING SPRING OVERVIEW:
Suspension is one of the most important factors in determining your vehicle’s day-to-day drivability. The first step in suspension tuning is to upgrade your vehicle’s stock springs. Upgrading your suspension components will ensure that your vehicle has improved handling and reduced body roll.
INSTALLATION OVERVIEW:
Spring installation is performed using special tools such as the Branick 7200 wall-mount and the Baum on-car spring compressor. Safety is the most important concern and we remove the spring/strut assembly completely from the car and use the Branick to avoid potential damage or injury. It is common to quickly remove the upper bolt with an impact tool and the assembly shoots apart once the tension is released. This method is faster but can be dangerous and also cause damage to the struts internal mechanisms. We use Branick to hold the assembly while we inser the proper tool to hold the strut shaft in place while we use specially designed open end sockets and wrenches to remove the assembly nuts by hand.
Before final reinstallation, all related suspension bushings, strut mounts, sway bar end links, etc, will be inspected for any signs of damage. OEM strut mounts and bearings will be inspected while out of the vehicle during front spring installation. Recommend replacement based on age, mileage, and visual inspection.
OEM shocks over 50k may be suspect to advanced sagging/failure. Lowering springs will offer the driver a stiffer driving experience. Although they may be sufficient, OEM strut/shock replacement is not ideal for spirited driving. We recommend sport struts/shocks as they are designed to work with sport springs.
Some vehicles come with OEM stretch bolts. These are a 1 time use fastener from the factory and are designed to be replaced once they are removed from their home component. We recommend the replacement of any stretch bolt that is removed.
DISCLAIMER: Vehicle's ride height will be lowered according to the suspension manufacturer's lowering range. In addition, the NVH (noise, vibration, harshness) may also increase.
INSTALLATION NOTE: Remove the stock suspension from the vehicle and reinstall upgraded lowering springs based on the manufacturers labor guide. This will be added to the order as a separate service
ALIGNMENT NOTE: Alignment is added to the order as a separate Service. We recommend doing this at the time of the spring installation. Camber and most importantly toe settings should be returned to factory settings. OE adjustability will vary based on platform. Performance adjustable components are available to add adjustability.
