We are proud to offer a bolt-in 4 point roll bar, with integrated harness bar for, the Audi TT-RS. The concept of this bar was that our clients prefer to take their daily driven street cars to the track and want a safety system that can be easily installed and removed. The TT-RS is a potent performer reaching speeds well over 100mph on the track, and thus added safety equipment is paramount. It is common to run a racing 5 or 6 point seat belt harness with a harness bar, but more tracks and event organizers are requiring complete roll bars if you’re going to run harnesses. We wanted a complete roll bar to protect the driver, but also wanted something that would function with the stock interior in place, as well as easily removable. This bar does just that. It has four bases that are designed to be bolted into the car that support the roll bar. The front bases are extremely important because they carry the load in rollover situations. Our bases were designed to withstand this load and are bolted to both the floor as well as being bolted to the cast aluminum frame structure that supports the rear suspension and makes up the central part of the chassis. The rear bases are mounted to the steel rear floor and frame structure. The plates are designed so that none of the stock mounting points for accessories need to be removed nor modified. Billet steel interlocking joints are used to attach the main hoop and rearward support bars together to complete the roll bar assembly.
Because we know that most of these cars will see street use as well we have constructed the bar with quick and easy bolt on junctions that allow you to remove the rear down bars and the main hoop separately and without removing the more permanently installed mounting plates which bolt to the chassis. Following the initial install, the main hoop and rearward support bars can be removed or installed in less than an hour. With the main hoop and rearward braces removed, the mounting bases are out of sight but are easily accessible for the roll bar install.
The biggest challenge was provided by the aluminum chassis structure of the TT-RS. We've put many extra hours in to the design to be certain of the integrity of the mounting points which are significantly larger in footprint and use double the quantity of high grade mounting hardware than standard solutions designed for steel chassis cars. The assembly is fully TIG welded and constructed of 1.75" 0.120 DOM steel tubing and has been designed to be fully SCCA, PCA, BMWCCA, ACNA, and NASA legal.
The cages will be available in standard colors (black, red, white, and blue) and custom colors are available upon request. The raw option takes 3-4 weeks to produce raw. Another week for painting.
