540 FMR

540 Series
Forged
2-Piece FMR®

The 540 Series is now available in our 2-Piece wheel platform. FMR® (Forged Monoblok Rim) is HRE’s proprietary one-piece aluminum forged barrel technology. Made with the same process and from the same material as our one-piece wheel forgings, 6061-T6 forged aluminum, it is mated to a forged wheel center creating the finest 2-piece forged wheel on the market today. The HRE FMR® barrel offers greater stiffness, reduced mass, higher concentricity and eliminates the air seal required of traditional three-piece wheels.

The 540 Series is one of the most iconic wheel styles we’ve ever created. Originally launched in the late ’90s, the 540 Series quickly became one of HRE’s hottest sellers on cars like the E46 M3, Porsche 996 Turbo and C5 Corvette. To commemorate our 40th Anniversary in 2018, we revived the 540 mesh style, re-engineering it to work with today’s most exclusive sports and GT cars, bringing a little bit of the 90’s back to enjoy. The result is a better 540 ready to take on the next 20 years.

At HRE Wheels, there is one simple goal: "To build the best wheels in the world."

Starting with aerospace-grade 6061-T6 aluminum and finishing with high strength stainless steel or titanium fasteners and lug bolts, HRE designs, engineers and manufactures every wheel in-house at their 60,000 sq. ft. facility near San Diego, California.

HRE wheels are tested to exceed U.S., Japanese and German government regulations for radial and rotary fatigue, as well as impact. Their manufacturing facility maintains German/EU TUV Verification status, ensuring consistent quality from start to finish. For example, each application undergoes intensive Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to achieve optimal reductions in unsprung mass and rotational inertia as well as maximum strength and stiffness, resulting in enhanced ride quality, improved braking, acceleration and suspension performance.

A motorsports, street performance and luxury design leader, HRE introduced its no-lip design, the P40, in 2007 and revolutionized a wheel industry that had been focused on a deep-lip look for years. "Innovative" will always describe an HRE wheel, but so too will "refined" and "appropriate." Their design and engineering teams create a great selection of styles that are vehicle-specific, lightweight and never require hub rings or spacers. The lines and form are purposeful to both complement and enhance vehicle design.

HRE wheels include a two-year finish and lifetime structural warranty.
