RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT

The factory exhaust is incredibly heavy at over 58 lbs with several chambers and falls short of offering a true, race car inspired exhaust note. Our Audi Race Exhaust System is one of our most popular exhausts given the unrivaled V10 roar it elicits. We’ve been asked to produce that same sound with a muffled system for a more refined option at the press of a button. Increase the presence and character of the exhaust note in the cabin while maintaining a reasonable level of resonance / drone while driving in both the valves closed and open modes through our signature drone fighting capabilities while shedding over 34 lbs in the process.

With valves closed, the exhaust is routed through a bespoke SOUL chambered muffler we designed with an internal X-Pipe to meet our sound goals. This unique muffler was crafted to match our high standard of drone fighting mufflers that we are known for in the Porsche world. We tested a more traditional perforated core muffler design as well but the carefully engineered chambers of the final muffler result in a more aggressive sound on and off throttle with reduced undesirable tones. With valves open, exhaust flow is free to exit through 3″ piping for a thunderous roar. Secondary flow through the muffler and x-pipe reduces rasp and smooths the exhaust note for a higher pitched, more refined sound. The end result is two distinct and enjoyable sound modes – mild and wild.

 

SOUND:  Imagine the Audi R8’s loudest note-amplified twofold. This exhaust is loud, mean, and encourages crackles and burbles that will be heard a mile away! When you’re looking for a more refined cabin experience, switch modes to close the valves and enjoy a quieter but still exciting experience with minimal drone. 

CONSTRUCTION:  Each system is made from mandrel bent .060″ wall T304L stainless steel tubing, CNC machined flanges, and laser cut brackets. Back purged TIG welding (with ARCAL™ Prime argon gas) ensures proper weld penetration and longevity. Water jet cut flanges are made to ISO 9001:2015 standards with tolerances of +/- 0.003 inches for extreme precision. We fabricate each exhaust using thick gauge aluminum fixtures which act as a great heat sink during the welding process and prevent warping not only of our products, but the fixtures themselves to ensure perfect fitment.

BOLT ON AND GO: Every piece is rigorously quality-checked prior to shipping and then foam packed to ensure they arrive in perfect condition. Everything is included for a complete installation.

FACILITY Soul Performance Products is located in a 15,000 sq ft facility north of Philadelphia in Willow Grove, Pennsylvania. We make great use of this space to keep our products in stock, ready to ship. Our mission is to quickly get you the parts you need with no delays. Our R&D area is equipped with two BendPak lifts and all tools necessary to allow us to design, engineer, test, prototype, and fixture components. Our shipping area is set up to ensure that all components get a thorough inspection, orders ship complete with all hardware, and that products are well packed.

 

MANUFACTURING Soul Performance Products is partnered with ISO 9001 Certified aerospace manufacturers, enabling us to work with technology and industrial scale, extreme precision equipment down to +/- 0.002 inches that would otherwise be out of the limits of an exhaust manufacturer. Our capabilities include waterjet and laser cutting, tube bending, CNC machining, robotic welding and much more. We strategically deal with vendors worldwide to find appropriate components, such as high quality HJS HD catalytic converters.
