We have been modifying VW's since 1975. When the 2023 Volkswagen Golf R 20th Anniversary Edition was announced we jumped at the opportunity to get our name on the list. We knew this would be a special car and wanted to put our touches on it. Our Golf R arrived in beautiful Lapis Blue over black interior with a DSG transmission.
We started with a few basic upgrades. We had the windows tinted to 35% using Xpel's Prime XL carbon film which contains Ceramic Particle Technology, a proprietary blend of ceramic particles to act as a solid barrier to heat while blocking 99% of harmful UV rays which protect both occupant and the vehicle's interior. Next we replaced the orange reflectors with color-matched units. Lastly, we applied a ceramic coating to protect the exterior finish of the car.
We knew we wanted to work with the industry's most recognizable brands to upgrade the Gol R and started our package with H&R VTF Adjustable Lowering Springs, the perfect answer for cars equipped with electronic shocks. We added a front and rear sway bar maintaining ride comfort and dramatically increasing cornering control, lateral stability, and grip.
Our professional installers setup the suspension and performed a laser alignment on our Hunter HawkEye Elite in-ground alignment rack including steering angle sensor calibration.
We then turned to HRE Wheels and chose the latest 2023 FF28 design finished in a Tarmac, a durable satin black.
A Maxton Design lip kit was added to round off the upgrade package. The kit includes a front lip, side skirts, rear wing extension and rear diffuser. The components were adhered with 3M tape and can be removed without any physical damage to the vehicle.
The vehicle is otherwise stock and the engine has not been modified to retain factory warranty. The vehicle is on display in our showroom at GMP Performance Lake Norman, 292 Rolling Hill Rd, Mooresville, NC 28117.
