We offer Paintless Dent Removal (PDR) onsite while clients have their car with us. Paintless Dent Repair specialists are mobile and are trained in methods for repairing minor dents and dings on vehicles without using paint or body filler. Technicians use specialized tools, like metal rods and sticky tabs, to gently push and pull the metal from behind the damaged panel or pull the exterior. PDR is a cost-effective, quick, and minimally invasive alternative to traditional repairs, preserving the original factory finish and increasing resale value, but it's only suitable for dents where the paint is undamaged.
How PDR Works
-
A technician assesses the dent to determine if PDR is the appropriate method, checking the dent's size, depth, location, and the condition of the paint.
-
The technician gains access to the backside of the dented panel by removing interior trim or panels.
-
- From Behind: Specialized metal rods and picks are used to carefully massage and push the metal from the interior side of the body panel, slowly restoring the original shape.
- From the Front: In some cases, special tabs may be bonded to the exterior of the dented panel, which are then used to gently pull the dent outwards.
- From Behind: Specialized metal rods and picks are used to carefully massage and push the metal from the interior side of the body panel, slowly restoring the original shape.
-
Specialized tools called "tap downs" may be used to gently tap down any high spots that result from the repair process, ensuring a smooth, uniform surface.
Benefits of PDR
-
The factory paint is kept intact, which helps maintain the vehicle's aesthetic appeal and resale value.
-
Eliminates the need for costly paint and fillers, making it less expensive than traditional repair methods.
-
PDR is often a quicker process, sometimes allowing for same-day repairs.
-
It's a less invasive process compared to traditional methods that involve sanding, filling, and repainting.
When PDR is a Good Option
- The dent is minor or medium-sized.
- The vehicle's paint is still intact, without cracks or damage.
- The dent is not located on an extremely sharp crease or in a particularly complex area.
